Meet Elite Label’s Jerry Diaz! Jerry works in our San Jose, Elite Label Division, as our Roll Product Supervisor and has been in this position for the past 7 years. Over the past 2 years, Jerry has been managing our Elite Label Production schedules. He has been with GM Nameplate for a total of 21 years.

Jerry began his GMN journey as a Roll Slitter in the warehouse and then moved into a position as our first Flexo prep person. From that point, he continued to increase his industry knowledge and experience as a Webtron Flexo Operator. When the first UV/Conventional combo, Mark Andy press, West of the Mississippi was installed, Jerry was offered the Mark Andy Press trainee position. “With hard work and a great effort by the operators that work in the Roll Department, eventually I was given my current position. And here I am, enjoying every aspect of my contribution to GM Nameplate / Elite Label.”

Jerry’s daily activities include overseeing production schedules in the Roll Department. He works together with several teams and strives to offer products and services to external customers that meet and exceed their expectations.

Jerry is a tremendous resource within Elite Label. He works closely with Damian Silva, Account Manager and Jill Prestigiacomo, Graphic Designer, to quickly turn press proofs, and is extremely proactive in working with the Account Managers when projects or opportunities for new business come through the shop. He understands the value of working with the Purchasing Group, Account Managers and the Art Department to get the job done right!

Elite Label has been able to greatly reduce the cost of simple and complex wine label work by printing on the INDIGO. Jerry is also our Indigo, digital press expert, working closely with our entire digital team. “Reducing set-up, scrap material, and less expensive tooling on the finishing line has allowed us to be a source to be reckoned with and in some cases win projects from competitors that can not offer the print quality produced on the Digital Process,” stated Jerry.

Continuous Product Improvement is the name of the game and the team continues to be focused and takes every effort possible to maintain our customer’s satisfaction level. “The JUST IN TIME concept is something our customers are very familiar with these days,” stated Jerry. “We have to be poised and ready to deliver product to the customer on time, every time.”
